India is a democracy . Well I still believe in it . We are going to celebrate our 60th birthday of democracy . When my dad turned 60 we had a family reunion to celebrate his Shashtipurthi . I believe its time now when we Indians need to reunite and celebrate our democracy . Life is all about celebrating right ?
Every country has their own problems and some problems are common for every country . One such problem is Corruption . Corruption is not just a problem its a plague to our society , a contagious disease , an evil avatar and whatever you wanna call it . Corruption is not the only problem in India but Its sad to realize when corruption has become a norm to get things done in our country .Legislature , Executive , Judiciary and Press are the four pillars of our democracy and its a fact that all these pillars are corrupted . We have a great democracy and without corruption it will be the greatest . As we celebrate the 60th birthday of our democracy the best gift we can give is a 5th Pillar .
What is 5th Pillar ? It is a non profit, non governmental organization aimed at fighting the evils of the Nation, corruption. 5th Pillar is a pillar of non political voluntary forces as well as voluntary members which fights corruption and helps the strengthen the first 4 pillars of democracy. In the secret language of corruption in India, an official expecting a bribe will ask for Mahatma Gandhi to “smile” at him . The very person who fought against all the evils of the society was forced to witness the evil corruption and I guess his soul is not smiling as he does in 50 Rupee notes. How does it sound to handover a Zero Rupee note with Bapu smiling at the Babu's asking bribe ? Sounds crazy ? Sounds ridiculous ? or Sounds cool . However it sounds it you , the fact is its a reality and its happening and I am excited . Take a look at the brain child of great minds at 5th Pillar.
We are a country of more than billion people but I see and believe it as our strength and so are the founders of 5th Pillar . We speak different languages , follow different customs , pray to different gods , eat different food and so many differences we don't even know of . But its important that we work together to protect our differences to protect our democracy . We have done it before fighting against British under the leadership of Gandhi we have to do it again fighting corruption and guess what Gandhi is still with us smiling in the Zero Rupee note. So starting thinking actions will follow . Dont you want to be the 5th Pillar ? Many may think this whole idea is crazy but its the need of the hour or our democracy can go demo-Crazy .
